The Necessity: A Daily Struggle Against Illness and Cold

In Nepal, basic infrastructure for fresh water supply and wastewater disposal is often lacking. For the children at the orphanage, this means constant danger:

• Deadly Drinking Water: The available water is often extremely contaminated. Every sip is a health risk, causing serious infections, high medical costs, and forcing us to buy clean water expensively in jerrycans.
  
  
• Dangerous Wastewater: Because there is no central sewage system in rural areas due to the topography and geology, wastewater seeps unfiltered into the ground and contaminates the drinking water sources of the entire neighborhood.
  
  
• Lack of Well-being in Winter: Hot water for hygiene is lacking, which becomes a particular problem for the children during the cold months.

Our Smart Solution: Independence Through Self-Sufficiency

We need €11,000 for a one-time investment that will ensure a healthy, sustainable, and self-sufficient water supply:

1. The Solar Powerhouse (Clean Water & Heat): We will install a combined solar system for water purification and heating.

•  💧 Pure Drinking Water: The filtration system removes arsenic from the water and kills bacteria and worms. The children will drink healthy water directly from the tap.
•  ☀️ Warmth and Comfort: Warm water for bathing and washing means hygiene, well-being, and protection from the cold.
  
  

2. The Mini Wastewater Treatment Plant (Environmental Protection): We will build a septic tank (treatment and infiltration basin) directly at the house.

•  ✅ Health Protection: The decentralized system safely separates wastewater from groundwater and creates a hygienic zone in the children's learning and living environment.
•  🌱 Clean environment: The purified water safely seeps into the ground without harming nature or neighboring water sources.
